Description

Devil in the Countryside is about the most famous werewolf investigation in history. It's 1588, the height of the Reformation, and the Catholics and Protestants are at each others' throats, vying for power over the Holy Roman Empire. A killer dubbed the Werewolf of Bedburg is on the loose, and it's up to a cold investigator named Heinrich Franz to find out who—or what—the killer is. Meanwhile, the investigator enlists the help of a strange hunter who’s stumbled into town, and a priest and young girl try to keep the peace among the frightened townsfolk.
Together, these four divergent souls find themselves entwined in a treacherous mystery, navigating the volatile political and religious landscape of 16th century Germany, fighting to keep their sanity—and their lives.
