Description
In a small town, lying in the shadow of a huge chalk mountain in eastern Ukraine, a family court is in session. Two young families are pitted against each other. They used to be close friends, now, the father of one accuses the other of being the real father of his son. His former friend vehemently denies it, and so does his wife. But there is no denying the fact that the boy is a spitting image of the former friend. The quest to discover the truth takes the families back in time, from the repression era through the “thaw”, stagnation era, hungry dashing 90s and to the present day Ukraine, revealing many family secrets.
