BioYA fantasy featuring difficult female protagonists overcoming barriers and fighting for a better world.
Subgenres range from future dystopian, contemporary/urban dark, supernatural/paranormal and Celtic-inspired Otherworld. Plus some horror-rom-com just to mix things up. Inspired by YA greats including Brenna Yovanoff, Kendare Blake, Melissa Marr, Cassandra Clare, Kelley Armstrong and Holly Black.
I started life as that one super weird little kid obsessed with stories and really, not much has changed. Picture a chubby, bespectacled eight year old dashing around the playground hollering battlecries from Redwall and creating urban legends about witches in the back wood and fairies in the snow melt.
I'm still in love with words, blades, battle and heroism, and working hard to tell diverse, complex and empowering feminist stories. Won a few writing awards as a teen and had big dreams of publishing. Then I went away to university, got a job, and started living in the real world. Years later, I've decided to quit the real world and go back to fantasy land. Come with me?
I write stories, freelance and record audiobook narration while wandering Scotland, Cornwall & the Pacific Northwest. My debut novel, Blind the Eyes, is a YA dystopian fantasy. Teaser: When hope kills and dreams are deadly, your only chance for survival is to obey...but the only way to live is to rebel
